A-Plus Home Care is a non-medical agency which provides services to elderly, disabled and people of all ages, physical conditions and cognitive abilities who would like to remain in their homes, yet require assistance with certain daily or weekly activities. Working closely with clients and their families, we provide personalized assistance in client’s own home, the hospital, and long-term assisted living facilities with services such as warm companionship, meal preparation, medication reminders, personal hygiene and dressing assistance, light housekeeping, incidental transportation and respite care.
Clients may have difficulty with the more intimate tasks of daily life, known as the activities of daily living. We provide assistance with bathing, dressing, grooming, toileting, transferring and exercising.
Since many older adults lose their appetites and take in fewer calories as they age, the food they eat must be of the best nutrition possible. There is also a consideration of whether foods will interact with their medications or cause specific ailments to become worse, such as high blood pressure, diabetes or renal failure. Our caregivers handling grocery shopping, meal planning and food preparation will follow the plan of care to ensure all meals and snacks compliment the care plan for your loved one.
Hospice is a specialized form of medical care that seeks to provide comfort and maintain a patient's quality of life (to the greatest extent possible) for those facing a life-limiting illness, disease or terminal condition. Palliative care is an approach that can bring hope, control, and a chance at a better quality of life for seriously ill patients. Our caregivers provide supportive care to individuals in hospice or palliative care.
This service will help people with dementia live out their remaining years with dignity and respect, in the safety and comfort of their own home. Caregivers will offer skillful management of behavior like wandering, sundowning or anxiety. They will provide regular updates on mood, physical and mental health and daily activities to keep you informed.
As people age, they may feel the urge to withdraw and avoid going out. Our supportive caregivers can provide some normalcy by driving them to social events, as well as their needed medical appointments. Whether it is to pick up books at the library, or get them to a much-needed dental cleaning, having the means to get around as they need, and want, will help with providing a healthy quality of life for your loved one.
The industry has gotten accustomed to calling caregivers “companions” – and for a good reason. Relationships can be the difference-maker in how hard an older person fights against illness or sticks to a strict dietary requirement. They have a purpose to work through the difficulties of aging if they have people around them to care about. Our caregivers will help to support this goal. From playing games to just chatting over coffee, this more relaxed aspect of caregiving is also one of the most important.
Our caregivers will help to maintain the household and a safe, clean environment by providing light housekeeping. Light housekeeping includes things like watering the plants, dusting of surfaces, as well as picking up newspapers, magazines and other clutter. It also includes emptying the trash, vacuuming and sweeping of main walk areas. It can also include laundry and washing dishes.
Our caregivers will be aware of the "red flags" for a senior loved one. Whether it is an indication of health, mental state or a mood change, they will report these changes promptly. Our caregivers will document what happens during a shift, as well as make recommendations for additional care when needed.
